Dr. Olson and Dr. Tussing utilize advanced, state of the art technology to provide safe and gentle orthodontic treatment resulting in the beautiful smile you have always wanted.

Orthodontist

Dr. Julie Olson

Dr. Olson was born and raised in Omaha, NE and graduated from Millard North High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Kansas. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry where she graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Academic Honor Society. Following dental school she completed her specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry, while also earning a Master of Science in Oral Biology. Dr. Olson’s Master’s Thesis project went on to be published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

Dr. Olson and her husband have three children, Claire, Luke and Johnny. After completing residencies in Kansas City, they returned to Omaha where Dr. Olson joined the practice of her childhood orthodontist, Dr. Vic Monson. Away from the office, Dr. Olson loves spending time with her family and friends. She also loves to exercise, travel, play soccer and watch her three kid plays sports!

Dr. Kate Tussing

Dr. Tussing is an Omaha native and was so happy to return home after completing her formal education in 2022. After receiving a degree in Nutritional Sciences at Kansas State University, she attended dental school at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. She and her husband moved to Oklahoma while she completed her residency in Orthodontics from the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Tussing and her husband spend most of their time chasing around their two wild children, Rose and Walter, and their goofy dog, Farley. They enjoy being outside, exploring different parks and local restaurants, and cheering on the Huskers! Dr. Tussing loves reading historical fiction, doing any outdoor activity, running, and baking. She is so excited to be a part of the team at Olson Orthodontics and can’t wait to meet you all!

I have been at the office for over 30 years. I love meeting new people! I want each person who visits to feel comfortable and at home in our office.

Out of the office, my husband, Brian, and I enjoy visiting our two daughters and their families. Our family loves spending time outdoors, spending time with our dogs and ALL HUSKER SPORTS.

I've been a clinical assistant at the office for 8 years and truly enjoy building relationships with our patients. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing their confidence grow with their new smiles!

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, Jake, and our two sons, Leo and Brooks.

Hi! I have been an orthodontic assistant with Dr. Olson since March of 2025. My favorite part of the job is connecting with patients and helping them to feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment. Outside the office I enjoy baking, reality TV, Husker volleyball, & my two kitties!

I have been employed with Olson Orthodontics since October 2025. I come with years of experience. I like building connections with our patients and watching our patients grow with their changing smiles. In my spare time I like to spend it with my family & friends. I am also deeply committed to our church and have a keen interest in 3D printing.

I joined Dr. Olson's office in the beginning of 2026 and love working with the amazing staff! I have enjoyed meeting all of the patients and seeing their smiles! In my free time, I love spending time with friends & family. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time outside!

I joined the Olson Orthodontics team in August 2023, where I have enjoyed gaining valuable experience and building relationships with patients and coworkers. I was recently accepted into the UNMC Dental Hygiene program and will begin in Fall 2026. I am passionate about helping people feel confident in their smiles and look forward to continuing my career in dental hygiene. Outside of work and school, I enjoy cooking, watching football, and spending time with my husband and two dogs.

Administrative Manager and Insurance Specialist

I have been the front desk administrator since 2022. My many responsibilities include: answering the phone, scheduling, working with patients to make financial arrangements, processing insurance. I strive to make our patients' experience as simple and stress-free as possible. From your initial phone call to set up a New Patient appointment through your course of treatment, I want patients to feel welcomed & comfortable at Olson Orthodontics! I love seeing the transformation of each smile!

When not at the office, I spend my time with my husband, Karl. We travel to see our adult daughters as often as possible! Our "extended" family includes our dog & cat. I am a born & raised Nebraska Husker fan and an Iowa State fan by marriage.
